[NEWS] Interview With Super Junior In Brazil

Group Super Junior who performed for the first time in Brazil on April 21st (local time) said they could not contain their excitement even after the concert ended.

After the concert ended, when they were interviewed at Hyatt hotel where they are staying in Sao Paulo, member Eunhyuk said, "you don’t know this feeling if you don’t stand on the stage.  They were all singing along in Korean and it just felt unbelievable that I almost cried."

Shindong said, "it felt weird.  I was worried when I was on the plane for 25 hours.  I didn't realize that the fans from the other side of the world would be this enthusiastic."  Brazilian fans overwhelmingly responded to their concert.

"It's no joke.  Screaming sound and singing along were great.   They even danced along.  I think, to them, a concert is not just seeing it but enjoying it together.  I think they were also happy that they watched our performance in person after only seeing it on the internet." (Kangin)

Eunhyuk said, "we should have paced ourselves, but we also got excited in the beginning that we poured too much energy in the beginning.  At the end of the concert, we were getting tired."

The song list at the concert was composed differently from the Seoul concert in March which started the world tour "Super Show 5."  Keeping in mind fans who weren't able to see the previous tours, Super Junior prepared the concert by condensing and restructuring key performances from Super Show 1 to 4.  They said it was member Kyuhyun’s idea to sing the Brazilian song, "Ai se eu te pego."  Kyuhyun said, "it’s a Portuguese song and it’s popular not just in Brazil but also all across South America.  So I thought it would be great to sing it to the fans."

Heechul who is currently serving in the military, Yesung who will enter the army next month and Kibum who became an actor could not join them at the concert.

"There is a group chat room where the members exchange opinions.  We tell what happened to the members who couldn't come.  How nice it would have been for everyone to come here together." (Eunhyuk)

Super Junior is a first singer to hold a South American tour in four countries.  After their concert in Brazil, they will travel to Argentina on the 23rd.  Then they will have a concert in Santiago, Chile on the 25th and Lima, Peru on the 27th.  Eunhyuk said, "it's getting bigger."  After finishing their schedule in South America on the 30th, they will come back to Korea.  Eunhyuk said, "when we debuted, we used the catchphrase, "gateway to Asia."  It has been 8 years since then and now we receive requests to hold a concert not just in Asia but also in Europe and South America.  Even we feel that it’s surreal that the world is uniting with music."

Super Junior will continue their world tour until the beginning of next year.  Afterwards, they will hold tours in Europe and North America.  Leeteuk said, "we want to continue our brand, "Super Show."  Even after all the members finish their military duty, we want to continue touring."

There will be no new album promotion in Korea this year for Super Junior.  Instead, they will meet fans through units and individual promotions.
